Young Builder of the Year
The inaugural Young Builder of the Year Award was introduced at the Master Builders Excellence Awards event on August 13 2010.
The winner was Gentjan Kreca of Kreca Renovations a migrant to Australia who impressed the judges with a history of dedicated skill and effort. Kreca Renovations also won an Excellence Award. Gentjan Kreca is a great success story who as a young Albanian immigrant with a family background in building migrated to South Australia.
Over a short period of time he has built a reputation and business that is based on quality customer service and building excellence.
The inaugural 2010 award is a national initiative to recognize young professionals’ commitment and contribution to the building industry.
The judging panel which included Deputy President, John Kennett, Vice President, Tulio Tagliaferri and Director of Operations, David Callan reported that the three finalists were people of exceptional quality with a passion for the industry. The three candidates came from the commercial, new home building and renovation sectors of the industry.

The judges were enthusiastic in their praise for all of the finalists not only as building professionals but as people who are contributing to the community.
Gentjan 29 years old and came to Australia in 2005 from Albania. From a family building background he completed his Certificate 4 in Building and was granted his Builders Supervisor’s License in 2007. He commenced his business in the same year and now has 10 staff and a thriving general building company.
His clients have praised his quality building work, his attention to detail and his thorough after sales service where he personally ensures every detail of the building work was of the highest standard.
The judges commented on his passion for the industry, his innovative building solutions and his talent and persistence to overcome language difficulties and cultural and industry differences to establish himself as a quality builder with a growing reputation. Congratulations Geni!
